I use a large 21:9 screen and appreciated having the full array of icons and date always there expanded. In 2.1 you could minimise the notification area if you wanted more space - you had the choice.

The clock still exists, yet clicking it doesn't even open the clock app let alone the calendar. Pinning the calendar is a stupid workaround for something that had no business bring broken. Also, the touch pad persistent notification results in there always being at least "1" notification which is even more stupid. Why do I want to use a keyboard shortcut to see my notifications (which may not even be relevant given you can't tell what they are until you expand them) when in 2.1 I could literally see the notification icons? Not a replacement.
